Homelessness

People without homes, living on the streets live a difficult life. Christians throughout the city of Costa Mesa work in partnership with churches and the city through Trellis to house the homeless. There are several opportunities to engage in Trellis' Homelessness Initiative.

CHECK-IN CENTER FOR HOMELESS RESIDENTS
Help out at The Check-In Center, a place that, after agreeing to certain standards and rules, local individuals who are experiencing homelessness can check in their belongings each weekday morning, and check them out each evening.

WHEN: Mornings -- Mon-Fri, 6:00 – 7:30 am Saturday, 7:00 – 10:00 am. Evenings -- Mon-Thur, 6:30 – 8:00 pm Fri-Sat, 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
WHERE:
The Crossing Church,  2115 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Serve 2-3 times a month to greet individuals and coordinate the storage bins

AGES: 18 years+

LIFE ON THE STREETS (L.O.T.S.)
People who are without homes come to enjoy breakfast, take showers, and use laundry facilities every Saturday at The Crossing, one of Trellis’ church partners.

WHEN: Saturday mornings, 7:30-11:30 am

WHERE: The Crossing Church
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Serve breakfast and take time to get to know homeless residents in Costa Mesa. 
AGES: All welcome. Minors are asked to serve alongside a parent.
