Our
new School Principal, Richard Nordmeyer

Rich Nordmeyer is motivated today by
the same thing that motivated him to enter the Lutheran teaching
ministry 3 decades ago, the love of children. As an administrator
he wants to provide a safe and secure environment where children
can develop those special gifts and talents that God has blessed
them with. That simple philosophy drives him to challenge
staff and parents to be a part of that process giving each
child the opportunity to do so.
Rich and his wife, Donna, love to travel.
Rich’s love for history and geography has taken him
to almost every state in the union, Europe, Canada, Mexico.
Someday he hopes to travel to South America and the Far East.
Having grown up south of Chicago both Rich and Donna are avid
Chicago sports vans. Growing up on the farm in Illinois Rich
developed a love of gardening; whether it is planting vegetable
gardens or perennial flower gardens.
Rich received his B.A. degree from
Concordia University, River Forest and his M.A. in education
from the University of Evansville. He has served in the teaching
ministry in Lutheran congregations in Evansville, IN; Ann
Arbor, MI; Kankakee, IL; and now Costa Mesa, CA. He feels
that teaching at many different grade levels during those
years has helped him to be a more effective administrator.
He has served on many different committees at the district
level both in Michigan and Illinois and has been active with
the National Lutheran School Accreditation teams.
His wife Donna worked for Hospice of
Michigan and Hospice of Kankakee for the last fifteen years.
Just recently, she made a vocation change and is now a flight
attendant for Southwest Airlines. Donna has played hand bells
in the church hand bell choir and has been active in the congregation
on the parish fellowship board and other areas. The Nordmeyers
have two grown children, Nicholas and Erin. Both are single
and have full time employment in Illinois.
