Dear Partners in Mission,
Most of us have mixed feelings about new beginnings. The new beginning may be, for example, a new job, a new school, a move to a new location and a new home. There’s often some feelings of apprehension mixed in with the feelings of excitement that come with the change. We are embarking on a new beginning in Kobon Ministry by a commitment to start a translation program and schools in a third language spoken by the Ti or Minimimp people to the east of the Kobon, while continuing work with the Kobon and Haruai people. This expansion into Minimimp is especially exciting for the Minimimp people who are very enthusiastic about having an alphabet and books in their language, and schools where their children can learn to read and write. But this expansion into a third language calls for the building and equipping of new schools, production of school materials in this new language and the training of new Minimimp teachers. Please continue to pray for Lindon who is working among his own people to get the first Minimimp Living Word school built and opened, and to recruit people to be trained as teachers. The Lord is opening the way for the spread of His Word. Pray for the production of the first Minimimp Bible storybooks which is now underway and for the printing of them along with 2007 Minimimp calendars with Bible-reading guides at the forthcoming Book Bees. We are excited about this expansion and as we go forward into this new phase of Kobon Ministry we are thankful for your partnership. Pray for the process of readying the Minimimp translation of the New Testament for publication in the coming year. In His Love and Grace, Pastor John and Maila
