Habitat for Humanity Orange County Local Ministry

Ministry Purpose

A nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing organization that builds modest, decent affordable housing for those less fortunate, in partnership with Thrivent Builds/Lutheran Partnership Funding.  Each chosen family contributes 500 “sweat equity” hours to building their own home and then purchasing that home.  This ministry relies heavily on volunteer coordination and fund raising to meet required goals.

                                               Ministry Members

Members are given the opportunity to assist in the completion of housing construction and landscaping requirements.  There are also opportunities available to serve on the Habitat Committee, arrange fund raisers, and volunteer @ the Habitat OC location in Santa Ana.

 Time Involved

Several group build dates are allocated and scheduled for Christ Lutheran participants.  Individual volunteering is also encouraged.
                       

Requirements

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and have a written consent form from their parents. Everyone should also have the desire and physical abilities to complete the task.
