& Pastor Glenn
Pastor Glenn was born in Denver, Colorado and celebrated his half century milestone on October, 14. He was baptized into God’s forever family on March 1, 1959. His father, Chauncey, and his mother, Leona, provided him with two older brothers, Ronald and Marvin (Colorado Springs, CO; Austin, TX), and one younger, Kenneth (Colorado Springs, CO). At six years of age, Glenn’s father was transferred (IRS) to Austin, Texas. After his father’s death in 1973, his family moved back to Denver, where his mother still lives (Arvada). After completing his first year at the University of Northern Colorado, Glenn transferred to Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated (1982) with degrees in Elementary Education (K-8th) and Director of Christian Education (Youth Ministry Emphasis).
During his DCE internship in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Glenn serendipitously met and fell in love with Susan (Clark), who later graduated from Central Michigan University (1983), secondary education, English and Math. They were married in July, 1983, after his first year at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Glenn served his vicarage year at Ascension Lutheran Church, Charlotte, North Carolina (1985), and graduated from the Seminary in June, 1986. God’s Spirit through the family of believers at Messiah Lutheran Church Called Glenn and he returned to Charlotte where he served until 1989. Then, accepting a Call from a new mission Church in Ferrysburg, Michigan, Lakeshore Lutheran Fellowship, Glenn and Susan, and their daughter, Kathryn (July 1988), moved back to Michigan where Glenn served and grew with the Lakeshore family for over 19 years. During this time, Sue and Glenn were blessed with a son, Bruce (October 1990).
Kathryn is in her second year at the University of Texas, Arlington, Music Major, Violin performance. Bruce is a senior at Orange County Lutheran High School and aspires to be a Pharmacist after he graduates from College (TBD).
Glenn’s “Life verse” is from Philippians 3:7b-11: “I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Glenn lives to proclaim the supremacy of Christ in all things; he loves the Body of Christ and is passionate about leading and equipping God’s gifted saints, drawing his hope from the Spirit’s promise to indwell and victoriously empower Christ’s Church to fulfill his ultimate enthusiasm to connect people to Jesus that they would know Him, too. Along the way, Glenn enjoys keeping busy with home projects, going shopping with his wife, traveling, staying physically fit, pursuing leadership development, beating his son in ping pong, and watching really good movies with his family. Glenn is over-the-top excited about becoming part of the CLC community, partnering with Pastor Mike and his team, and embracing the abundant blessings of God as the Great Commission and God’s kingdom advance throughout Orange County and beyond.
