Food Distribution Our usual Neighborhood Food Distribution date is the second Saturday of the month. I want to encourage those that can to arrive by 11:30 to assist with the set up. As more and more neighbors come for assistance, the need for advance preparation increases.
Our food distribution program is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to the neighboring community and serve the less fortunate. I’m confident that those of you who have had the opportunity to volunteer have experienced the joy of giving. The recipients of your efforts have repeatedly said how much they appreciate what we are doing, and how they feel our Lord is at work at our church.
If you would like to volunteer your time , I encourage you to join us on the second Saturday of every month from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Please come and feel the joy for yourself.
If you are not able to actively participate, we could use any donations you are able to make to help pay the cost of the food delivery, refreshments and bags for the food, which costs approximately $300 per month. Donations can be made at the hospitality booth each Sunday. Just look for the purple jar.

| It has been a couple of years now that we have been doing our monthly food distribution with the help of Cool Water Ministries and the Second Harvest Food Bank. When we started this program we were helping on the average of 80 families a month with a increase of 5 to 10% per month. As our economy has changed we have seen this number increase to 300 in March. I’m sure that some of you have read in the newspapers that food banks have seen a decrease with their supply of food available. Our delivery has gone from 8000 lbs. to 6000 lbs. and no rice or beans which is a huge staple for our people. I would like to make you aware of the items needed to support this effort every month and if you can help in any way it would be much appreciated. Truck Delivery: $200- $250 for 6000 to 8000 lbs. of food Plastic grocery bags which we use to bag produce Large trash liner bags 1.3 mil thick: $18 per 100 25lb. Rice: $22 25lb. Beans: $17 Animal Cracker Cookies: $8 Misc. paper goods: $10 If you would like to make a monetary donation please do so by designating on the church envelopes for “Food Distribution”. A heart felt thanks goes out to all the volunteers, both adults and children who have helped out every month and those who have donated items for distribution. This ministry has been truly blessed. |
